What else do you need to know about Eastport?

Eastport is an area that has contributed a lot to the rich history of the Annapolis area.  It was its own city until 1951, when it officially became a part of Annapolis.  It used to be a fishing and farming area, but has since become a charming residential hotspot, with restaurants, stores and parks sprinkled in.

As far as history goes, Eastport played a small role in the Revolutionary war.  It was used as a temporary camp for Lafayette's troops, as well as the home to Fort Horn.  Eastport is also home to the Annapolis Maritime Museum, making exploring some of the local history a breeze.

Eastport is also home to Restaurant Row,  which boasts some of the top local dining spots. It’s also one of the few areas where you can dine super close to the water, which makes for some gorgeous sunset dinners.  Some local favorite restaurants in Eastport include Carrols Creek, Boatyard Bar & Grill, Blackwall Hitch and Lewnes Steakhouse.  Whether you are craving seafood or a steak, Eastport is one of the must visit places in Annapolis for a wonderful meal out on the town.

There are some great stores nearby for you to explore.  You'll also find a variety of unique shops and boutiques selling everything from nautical gifts and antiques to home decor and artwork.  Eastport is also just a short drive away from additional chain stores like Target, Wegmans, Homegoods, Trader Joe’s and so many others.

It is also worth mentioning the architecture.  Many of the homes in Eastport are stunning.  100+ year old homes have been updated through the years, giving residents more modern floor plans, while still maintaining that Annapolis charm.  Some more modern neighborhoods and homes are also sprinkled in. 

One of the best parts about living in Eastport is of course the water.  This area is on a peninsula which gives easy access to Spa Creek, Back Creek, the Severn River and the Chesapeake Bay.  There are several nearby marinas and some of the Eastport condos even offer boat slips and kayak/paddle board storage or ramps to residents.
